The user experience design discipline is stagnating at a dangerous time. Its core mindsets, methods, and tools have been successful over the last decade, but are becoming poorly suited to the challenges of 2015 and beyond.
Jan Šrůtek, specialist adviser: “There is probably no one single digital designer that influenced my thinking and my design practice as much as Cennydd. I don’t like the term thought-leader, but I wouldn’t hesitate to say that Cennydd has been a thought-leader for me over the last couple of years.
What I like about Cennydd’s approach is that he always focuses on a particular subject and explores that domain diligently, reflects on it, and then shares his insights with the community. He cares about where our industry is moving and about the designer’s role in the society at large.”
Cennydd Bowles is an independent digital product designer with over 13 years of experience in the industry. He was also the very first designer hired by Twitter outside the US. During his time there, he was responsible for the design of Tweetdeck 2.0 and 3.0, and helped to establish the global design priorities of Twitter. He’s also worked as a senior user experience designer at Clearleft.
